Cap throw at graduation 2024

Wakefield Community Schools held their commencement ceremony for the class of 2024 on Saturday, May 2, 2024 in the main gym at the school. The Trojan band lead in the graduates under the direction of Mrs. Trenhaile.

Sam Chase gave the opening remarks before Katie Borg gave the salutatorian address. The 9-12 choir then sang “May the Roads Rise to Meet You” by Victor C. Johnson.

Maritza Ibarra and Yarexy Lopez Ramos then shared their senior memories with the crowd before the valedictorian address was given by Ashlyn Boeckenhauer. The graduates then presented flowers to those that helped them on their journey through school.

Mrs. Rose then presented the honor students, followed by graduation address given by Chad Metzler. The presentation of diplomas by Principal Breen and Superintendent Farup followed.

Brad Haglund then gave the closing remarks for the ceremony before the Trojan Band played as the graduates exited the ceremony.

The class motto for the class of 2024 was “Be the change you wish to see in the world” by Mahatma Ghandi. The class flower was the snapdragon and the class color was baby pink.
