The Wakefield Community Foundation (WCF), an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation, recently awarded grants to organizations that serve Wakefield.

This year, grants were awarded to:

• The Little Red Hen Theatre – Drama Camp 2025 – $1,000

• Haven House – Client Car Seats – $622

The mission of the Wakefield Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for Wakefield citizens. WCF has granted over $31,000 since its inception in 2007. Only the income from the endowment is ever spent, so as the endowment grows so will the number of grants. WCF is always accepting endowment gifts to help fund projects in the local Wakefield community forever.

Recently the Wakefield Community Foundation also was able to assist Humpty Dumpy Daycare in their fundraising effort for a sunshade project. The Wakefield Community Foundation participated in the Siouxland Big Give on October 1 and was able to raise $2,257 towards the project. “We are grateful to the community for their support in helping us raise funds toward the Humpty Dumpty sunshade project,” said Zach Dolen, WCF Board President.
