The Crofton Warrior Speech team hit off their new season at Pierce High School on Saturday, January 14. The team was eager to get back at it and bring on this season to see what they could accomplish. This first meet had two events place first, and as a team, this group of ecstatic kids placed third. Dave Zavadil turned in this photo taken from a game camera near the Miller Creek area on December 8. Exiting the right of the frame is a mountain lion. Zavadil said the camera was located at the edge of the river on a higher cliff eight miles north and nine miles west of Crofton, or four miles west of Weigand. Anyone concerned, or spotting such an animal are encouraged to contact the Nebraska or South Dakota Game & Parks.
